DMX Manual IP Address

Post by guillaume2097 »

Dears,

I actually use Resolume 5 and a LED controller H803SA.
I connected this controller with an ethernet cable.
I try on Windows 10 to set an IP address but my Ethernet icon have a red cross.

It's the first time I try to use Resolume with LED hardware
but at this stage it's looks more an ethernet recognition problem

can you help me please?

Thank you

Sounds like your connected device isn't sending a ethernet handshake. What happens if you use a network switch in between? I'm assuming your ethernet cable is good?

I know such devices, the sockets look like network sockets, but their function is not.
These parts only understand DMX, nothing else.

^FTW :D

We have a couple of LED Source 4's that do the same thing. It's 3pin XLR to Ethernet cable. Sometimes people do the dumbest things lol. (Just make them a 5 pin or an ethernet Artnet port, but this analog over a digital medium is confusing for everyone and stupid.)

Nice catch!

Wooow
So if I understand
In this LED controller they have visually an ethernet input but it's not artnet ?

So I have no solution to change this hardware ?

Or you mean I can change this 3pin ethernet to a 5pin ethernet easily?
I will looking in google if I find something about this topic right now

Thanks a lots everyone!

No, from what Holm is saying is that your ethernet port is NOT ethernet so you can't connect it to other ethernet devices.

Another possibility would be to buy a DMX Ethernet Node. Then you could use your LED controller and open up greater application possibilities.
