Midi Time Code Support.

Post by Warspite »

Currently we have only SMPTE sync in Resolume. But most music guys are ready to give you only Midi Time Code, and not SMPTE. There are devices which can convert SMTE to MTC, but not MTC to SMTE. Ok, one time i can use VDMX, but i do not like idea to move from Resolume. Probably it is a good idea to add Midi Time Code sync. Because people are used to Catalyst and Maxedia and others and believe that MTC is right ok.

MTC support is in what we call the Feature Bucket. This basically means we'd love to do it, but it's not a priority right now. Hopefully we'll get around to it at some point.

Tested.
Good: VDMX with MTC sync ->Syphon -> Resolume works fine.
Bad: Not Every Midi Interface can send or recieve Midi Time Code. I had big problems on event with M-Audio Midisport 1x1. Does not work at all with MTC. MOTU Express XT failed to start on OS X 10.8.3 (everything is fine on PC with Win7 except the fact tht there is no VDMX for PC =)). TASCAM US-144 Mk II works.

Hello, What's new on MTC and MIDI clock.
I usually use the CopperLan Manager to synchronize computers with virtual MIDI interface on an Ethernet network.
Without such a precise that LTC (SMPTE) followed, it would be nice to resynchronize the starting point of a media based on the MIDI signal (such the signal of a sequencer as cubase...)
Can you help me on this?
Thank you, and sorry for my poor English spoken.
