Transition times more than 10 seconds

Post by Zoltán »

Hi,
i am running theatre shows and often the maximum transition time of 10 seconds is not enough.
It can be worked around some times, but with live input feeds or two (or more) videos fade on cue, pre rendering is not an option.

Possibly changeable in preferences/defaults with default of 10 seconds. (Up to 30 minutes or even more? )

What about adjustable fade curve, could it be made?

maybe fill a black image in front of it with the time you need & set autopilot on ;)

or a black video with X sec...

yes, that works for fadein and fadeout, this is what i do mostly , but it can't do crossfades, and it is not easy to adjust on the fly. especially over OSC.

Currently, for very specific functionality like this, we recommend to look into third party control apps (for instance Vezer or a DMX console).

Thanks for your suggestions,
I am using a pc, Vezér is only for mac,
using DMX console to control resolume we would need to buy hardware - thats in the plans.
I will have a look into the dmx posibilities.

I was thinking about the max10 sec transition time from a programming standpoint, how I would make it,
with a loop that runs for the specified (transition) time and sets the next clips opacity in steps.
changes to this maximun time should not be difficult to implement , i think.
Or in form of a multiplier, say x2 or x10.

What do You think?

This is free and can handle what you need via OSC.
