LED brightness driver support

Post by dirtyjohn_lv »

Built in support for brightness of common LED systems would be nice, instead of having to open the LED manager.

I would agree, however, why not have full midi/osc/keyboard shortcut control on the parameters on the slice, inclusive of brightness and contrast, X/Y/Z space, Size.

This would make for a better feature set than LED driver support which will then put Resolume team, under much stress to support a third party function.

my 2 cents from sunny JA

How's about we start with a list of common LED systems?

Hehe....I think I know what joris want to show us. There is no "common" LED System when you work as a Vj (-;

There are luminosity adjustment controls for each slice in the advanced output, are they not working for what you need?

I think there is a LOT of different chinese brands that use same driver system, 1 or 2 versions of FTDI drivers. They all use the same software to configure/control screens, they just change their user/password for the hidden mapping section.

I've even come across some non-Chinese brands using same driver system

@ravensc
I do use the brightness controls for some things, but still have to make adjustments to the actual LED controls themselves

Let's say I have my LED at 100% brightness for daytime use in both LED controls and Resolume. If I take Resolume brightness down to lowest value (half brightness) the LED is still to bright to use during night shows. I have to change my LED brightness to 10% in their control software in addition to taking Resolume brightness down.

Even something as having a choice as to if you want to link to LED controls would be nice

What I have done in those instances was just to bring down the level of my master on the composition itself, and I'm good...i leave the brightness at 100% and have my master become the brightness control for me...less hassle than having to fiddle with LED software to handle the intensity level of the tiles....OR if needs be half the brightness from the advanced output then use my master....to give me a better overall output...this I have done to fix brightness and colour differences between the different types of tiles I have used on a single show.

Unfortunately I output to to 6 different screens in different areas of the venue that need different brightness levels. Might be adding more soon.

Not like it's hard to open the led control software for each screen, but with Resolume integration I can just switch a preset for the whole venue and I would be done. I just need a bigger usb hub :lol:
