STRING DNA - Resolume Avenue Flash plugin

Hi folks,

I've created a Flash plugin for both Resolume Avenue based on a recent project, STRING DNA - http://stringdna.com. It's a generative art app that creates designs from any collection of letters, symbols and numbers. It creates a unique design for each string that can then evolve by adjusting just one character or changing the case of a letter.

This video was recorded from Resolume Avenue to show some of the effects that can be achieved. Pardon the frame stuttering caused by my slow computer.

How to use it:

You'll need to enter text for visuals to be displayed. Enter multiple words separated by comma's. For example:

"Resolume,Visuals are cool,VJ's are rad"

Try repeating letters are patterns of text for a more interesting output:

"one one one,two two two,three three three"

or numbers:

"01000101,66666677777,7 6 5 4 3 23"

Symbols work as well but some seem to break it. I haven't narrowed it down yet as to what causes it.

User controls in Resolume Avenue are:

- Scale
- Rotation
- X
- Y
- Evolve Speed
- Transition Delay
- Background toggle

Right now it's 640x480 though I'll be releasing a widescreen version and testing the performance of an HD version. An audio reactive version is in the works as well.

Weird. Strange characters were included in the URL string though you couldn't see them. Link is fixed.
