What codec to use for the compression of video files is an issue that's always under much debate among VJ's. For the last couple of years the general consensus is that a MJPEG codec is the best choice for VJ-ing.

A MJPEG codec is not only good for the playback of video files, if you use the record function in Resolume much then you can also use the MJPEG codec for the real-time compression of files. This reduces the file size of the recorded files enormously so less frames will be dropped during recording and resulting in much smoother playback of recorded files.
