Re: Convert h264 to dxv-encoded?

Alley let me open the .h264 file that was renamed to .mov, but then Alley reported, "Failed to load media file."

I'll look into re-packing to .mov.

Re: Convert h264 to dxv-encoded?

I see. When opening the h264 in QuickView, it brings up a graphic with file information, not playback. Yes, creating an mp4 using the h264 file does play back in QuickView, and then Alley converts that, no problem. But I have a ton of h264's that are in mkv's. It would be nice if Alley could handle ...

Re: Convert h264 to dxv-encoded?

I guess you mean QuickTime? QuickTime doesn't play h264.

It plays in VLC on my Mac.

Convert h264 to dxv-encoded?

When I try to open my h264 file in Alley, it's grayed out, so can't be opened. Is there a way to dxv-encode a h264 file? The h264 came from an mkv file, and I see the thread asking about converting mkv to dxv here: https://resolume.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=18733 hasn't gotten a single resp...

Empyfree wrote: Fri May 03, 2019 06:33 I’d stick with “from start” and modify the start point of the clip in resolume. You can drag it around, or type a number in the box above the handle (box appears when you click on it!)
Great, thanks. I didn't see that in the manual. I'll demo it soon.

Re: play the same video file starting from different timecodes?

After skimming a bit more, it appears the Cue Points is what I want, and possibly also BeatLoopr. I'd still appreciate any comments and suggestions for the best way to do things.

Re: play the same video file starting from different timecodes?

In short, yes. In a bit longer: https://resolume.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=18526 Reading that other thread, it appears that I have to extract the specific clips from the larger file in advance, correct? I was hoping to be able to use the exact same file over and over, but only change the c...

play the same video file starting from different timecodes?

I just discovered this software, and before I study the manual I've downloaded, I'd like to quickly find out if it can do the main thing I want to do. I have many video files in mkv format, and the video part (which I could extract) is in h264. The videos all average about 120 minutes in length. Rat...
