Although the idea sounds interessting to me from the technical point of view, i cannot approve it. Because it forces the distance between people. Imho parties are one of the last remaining places in modern society where lots of people interact together as one group, as a higher organism. It is very ...

another possibily - with much lower costs than those vga-recorders, but still quite expensive - is this baby, the world's only scan-converter with vga-input and dv output:

Yes, DV means some sort of reformatting the video-data. But DV is close to uncompressed -as far as i know. So this operation should consume almost no cpu power. This would be a very nice feature for Resolume, because recording the video output with a DV-cam does indeed lower the quality of the pictu...

Really a milestone! The first time since fl5, that macromedia seems to live up to its promises. Very impressive features, massive speed burst when using cacheAsBitmap(). Plus filters, plus blendModes ... everything that i was missing and that director had. But at the moment its quite hard to develop...

I'm in quite the same situation. I was using a laptop for the two offices and for vjing, but now my cooler of my vaio got too dirty, thus the cooling got very ineffective. That's were the problems started: I had to return it to sony (otherweise i had lost guarantee). After 3 weeks they send me my no...

Quite interessting approach. The abilities of Abelton give you a lot of possibilities, especially kind of sequencer functions. I'm curios for the video! But you need a lot of hardware (which also costs some money, right ?). Why do you need two V4? Can't you use vidnet and do the mixing in one of the...

I've had a similar configuration (but w/o gigabit network) and had two problems: On the desktop were general problems with Resolume, which were caused by missing audio drivers (surround sound thingy, i thought, i don't need them). On the desktop was and is winXP running _without_ any service packs. ...

@Danger: But you have noise on all frequency ranges?! At least those of resolume. To cut out specific, small frequency ranges you will need a fine fft and this requieres much cpu-power. @Levon: A stereo audio mixer is surely a good thing to reduce noise. But i want to carry as little package as poss...

There are many reasons for noise, and it's most of the times impossible to squelch all noise. Because even if you use DI-boxes, if you use electronics to stabilize the ground level of the power supply, there will be still some insolation (at parties with strong PAs...) producing noise. That's why i ...
