Tokyo gig pictures

Here are a couple of me and my friend Mika, at some gigs in Tokyo: http://public.fotki.com/gpvillamil/vj_gigs/gpvj.html - just keep pressing next. I have to say, at the last 2 gigs Resolume has worked flawlessly. MIDI, DV cam input, etc all worked, stayed up all night, no crashes, no funny behaviour.

Re keeping camera working: Panasonic and Sony cams won't switch off if they are in their still picture mode (ie using SD Card or Memory Stick). Re keeping firewire cable attached: put the camera on a tripod, and attach the power and firewire cables to the tripod with gaffer tape. Finally, whenever f...

VirtualDubMod will read MPEG2 or VOB files directly. You can mark out clips within a VOB (DVD video) file, and process them in a single batch process.

This happens on a system with no virtual drives.

However, it does have a flashcard reader which is often empty.

I have noticed two intermittent problems: 1) Resolume starts, but nothing shows in the lists for files, effects or decks. Rebooting the computer and resta...

Looking in the prefs revealed a lot of possibilities I was not aware of.

But it woudl be nice if this was referenced more clearly in the manual.

If you are using Enigma (the M-Audio library program), how do you do this? When I enter 147 for controller number, the parameters change to note on and off velocity. Should I enter 100 and 0 for these? The default values are 127 and 0. [Edit] Nevermind, it works fine. Enter 100 for note velocity in ...

Check out the Korg MicroKontrol as well, it's a 37 key keyboard that also has a bunch of faders, knobs and 16 pressure pads. Not necessarily the best for music, but very handy for controlling VJ software.
