I can replicate. It seems to me it might be to do with either window focus or clearing of key combinations. If I switch between display 1, 2 and disabled using hotkeys it works as expected. If I menu select Output|Display 2 and then hotkey to disable (ctrl+shft+D) the output isn't disabled. If I the...

You'll be missing some dependent DLLs. Possibly MS VC runtime, Free lib or zlib.

DropShadow is probably the method with the most control but if you drop the opacity of the EdgeDetect a nudge that will also give you an outline with a fill.

Visikord has spout output and has quite competent kinect support though not specifically with the effect mention above. The current interface is a bit clunky for VJs and it is oriented to audience interaction but there's an impending version 3 in the wings that will have spout in and out, I believe...

Trapcode Form can be applied to suitable source to create 2.5d that is similar. 3D apps and Element 3D can render wireframes but you'd need a 3D model to start with.

I can't say categorically but it's likely that ShaderToy implements certain features in certain ways and the ShaderLoader emulates as much as it can. Other applications that support ShaderToy and GLSLSandbox don't support every feature. For instance ShinyTreat will not even run since it uses texture...
