An alternative to this setup is to use a composition mask shaped as the image posted. Just make all hexagons white. The white BG you make tansparent. Save as PNG. Load the PNG file and apply it as a composition mask. Presto! Everything you play will be showing on your hexagons. Now you just need to...

quite simply, mapping a single object like this with a single clip, you can use a mask; http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/04/Pentagon.svg now if that shape changed sizes every night, you'd have to remake a mask every night to fit the outside of the shape- not a big deal as you just sca...

Masking on the input gives you all the options to create triangles, circles, hexagons, stars or any other arbitrary kind of shape. Or is that not what you are talking about? not what im talking about... with being able to manipulate the points on the input selection side, you're able to map without...

Would be nice if the input selection in the advanced output would allow for shapes other than rectangles, or even better if the points could be manipulated trying to map a bunch of diamond/triangular (or even worse...circular) shaped objects when combined with rectangular objects doesn't seem to wor...

while it may work I wouldn't trust a USB capture card...seems too slow for decent quality video really depends on the resolution you're trying to get into the system...for something 800x600 you'd probably be ok, but I definitely wouldn't try HD there's some really cheap, good, pci solutions out ther...

there are several problems with external usb serial devices (like the dmx/usb pro), and they'll ALL suffer from this issue if they have their own set of drivers...
