Re: NewBie Question and Help

1. I would recommend running a separate VJ laptop, install the RTPMidi on both of them and then hook them up together using an Ethernet cable, then you can tell Ableton to send midi data to the other computer to trigger the clips. What you want too look for in a Laptop is one with a good graphics ca...

Re: New FFGL Plugin: audio waveform via fugScopeGL

Thanks for making the plugin, i'll be purchasing it in a week or two. Could you add the ability to use the audio of the Composition or individual clips in Resolume rather than the External Audio FFT input? That would make it a lot more useful to me. If you could post a video of the plugin, that woul...

Re: feedback for my latest project

Try using the Audio FFT in Resolume to make the visuals more reactive, either use something like JACK to route audio from Ableton into Resolume or render your audio clips in Ableton and then trigger the audio clips in Resolume simultaneously along with your clips in Ableton via midi (Just make sure ...

Re: VJ Review of the New Retina MacBook Pro

How does a non Retina MBP with a solid state drive compare to the Retina MBP? Is there something with the logic board that makes the Retina snappier? Is there really that great of a difference between the two?

Re: feedback for my latest project

Personally if I was doing a hybrid music and visual performance, I would try to make the video audio reactive, at least in a subtle way. Anyway how come you rendered the video with black bars? It just makes your video look worse (No offense).

Re: glowing boxes trick

It's easier to do it in Resolume, just use a solid color as a source, turn the saturation down so it's white and then use the keystone mask effect on it to make a black center. You could always just make a PNG file too, whatever works for you.

Re: Midi Clock sync to DJM mixer

Well I can see this forum is a lot of help. I just spent a lot of money on Arena and no one post from a single Resolume rep? I thought the serato forum was bad. If you bought Arena you could always just e-mail them, i'm sure they'd respond to your message. No offense or anything but all the informa...

Re: QC FX workaround

You know what. I wrote an answer here, but I was too lazy to press submit. Aw man seriously? I was really hoping for an answer like "This has been fixed or has not been fixed". I can see why the read me file of Syphon would be outdated since vade seldom uses Resolume (He probably only use...

Re: First VJ Gig...! Complete nightmare

Well look at this way, at least they were only booing. I've had objects thrown at me while I was performing music onstage. Having to dodge flying objects from hitting your face is a lot worse.
