If you close Resolume, it should store the current output config, and load it on the next startup.
If you start Resolume with the outputs not being connected to the machine, you'll need to re-assign them once they are available.
Sounds like you have some midi device attached to the computer and enabled in the Resolume preferences, and when you insert your USB disk, Resolume syncs to the devices, to check if you inserted a midi device which needs to be used. I guess you have some midi shortcut mapping set up to the Video opa...

Try loading your Resolume 5 advanced output preset, in Arena 7's Advanced output to check if everything is in it's place
