Codecs other than DXV

Hello, I know that the DXV codec is always the most preferable with Resolume, but which one(s) are second best? Hap or ProRes? I ask because I may try to go for a quality bump upwards from DXV with ProRes and see if the machine can take it, otherwise I will revert to DXV.

Thank you.

Re: DMX Shortcuts for Transport Per Layer

On a related note... What about clip position in and out? Is there a way to map that by layer rather than by composition or selected clip?

Re: 16bit DMX fixtures and pixel drawing

Has there been any movement on 16bit DMX Fixtures for the advanced output window? I'm doing my periodic check in with this as well! Even if there's no 16bit control, can we at least get an option to "fake it?" Meaning, allow us to route the Red, Green, and Blue, separate from one another?...

Re: Color Fringes with DXV

Oh of course. Yes, it was rendered in High Quality... I read DXV HQ as DXV Headquarters :| @he2neg The fringes are apparent on my laptop screen right now, and also when I pause the content. I can't remember the LED wall resolution, but it was significantly smaller than 1080p. I mapped it natively wi...

Re: House design

@Cosmowe, how do you render in Vectorworks? Do you find it comparable to C4D? I love Vectorworks for it's CAD abilities, but with rendering pretty pictures of completed designs I can never get it right. C4D looks to be clearly superior in this sense, but I just don't like using the program and would...

Re: Color Fringes with DXV

I have shared the final file with Arvol, although unfortunately I do not know what the content team started out with, I just know that they encoded it to something (probably ProRes), then used Alley to get it into DXV. You can definitely notice these moires in the sky when playing back with Alley (a...

Color Fringes with DXV

The short of it: Does encoding to DXV cause color fringing/video moires in content? See the attached photo for an example of what I mean. It's an exaggerated example, but we have all seen those "ridges" pop up in certain types of content, usually when viewing the sky. Screenshot.jpg The lo...

Re: Outputting Many Universes of Artnet

Thank you,

Yes here's the setup:

- Dedicated network, only thing on it will be a lighting console outputting ArtNet to Resolume and Resolume outputting ArtNet to the decoders

- Everything will be unicast

- All gigabit switches (unmanaged)

- No POE

- No Wireless

Anything I'm missing?

Outputting Many Universes of Artnet

Hello everyone, It looks like I'm going to be mapping out 96 full universes of RGBW LED, I've never used Resolume for that many Universes and am curious if anyone here has done so... Any issues staying synced up? Keeping playback smooth? This is for super low res video walls to give texture for a fi...

Re: 16bit DMX fixtures and pixel drawing

Is there an eta on the 16-bit feature? If you guys could incorporate it I think a lot of film/tv people would use this as their goto media server since the other options are wildly expensive that we are using right now (green hippo, d3, even MBOX) - and they are complete overkill for what we need +...
