Why is Soft Edge applied to top and bottom, not just side?

I am doing a fairly simple mapping project, four projectors across a wall. I am using Soft Edge to blend the edges (there is a lot of overlap), and am finding that the blend area on the projectors on the end is not just the side edge, but also the bottom. See the attached screenshots. I would like t...

Possible to use Resolume without a control monitor?

I'm setting up an interactive installation early next year using Resolume. We are using the Bare Conductive Touch Board to read sensors and output MIDI (tested, works). We need to drive 4 projectors, and once the installation is running, we don't really need access to the UI. Is it possible to set t...

Re: Power cycle projectors without losing signal?

Yeah this is the best solution. There are a whole bunch of products out there that provide this functionality, you'll see them described as EDID Minder or EDID Detective. The "fancy" ones will run upwards of USD 100, though they do more. These will certainly work. There are some low cost o...

Re: Respect for VJ's

One thing that I have found to pay off really well is to really work closely with the musicians, DJs and event producers to make the whole experience feel integrated. My best experiences have come from working ahead of time with DJs to orchestrate the visuals for the set, show them what is possible,...

Re: How to get all my externally generated content into Resolume the most simple way?

If I understand this correctly, what you want to do is: When you select a clip for playback 1) start rendering it in QC (and sending to its Spout) 2) select and start the corresponding clip in Resolume And probably, when you mute, or select a different clip, stop the rendering in QC So right now to ...

Not sure if this what you need, but looks promising: https://github.com/DanielArnett/360-VJ/releases

Are you looking to un-fisheye your image?

Re: State of play: DXV vs H.264 decoding, system playback

A GPU accelerated transcoder from DXV to HAP (and vice versa) would be a godsend for our shop! Would let us use our footage on a couple of additional platforms, while still playing great in Resolume. Right now the only path is using plugins for HAP and DXV in Adobe Media Encoder, and that has issues...

It also shows MP4 as AVI which is somewhat odd. Could be an Adobe bug?

Re: State of play: DXV vs H.264 decoding, system playback

Cool, thanks for the explanation! I had noticed that H.264 playback in Resolume 6 is definitely far better. I do notice that if I play 4x 4k h.264 clips in Quicktime player vs the same 4x 4k clips in Resolume, the CPU load is higher in Resolume. I imagine this is because a lot more is going on than ...

State of play: DXV vs H.264 decoding, system playback

I'm in the process of writing a quick paper on codec choice for a team I work with. In the process of doing this, I dug into measured performance of H.264 vs HAP vs DXV3. Now, I know the standard line is that DXV3 and HAP use the GPU to reduce the workload on the CPU, hence allowing more clips to be...
