Re: Which pc?

i ran into a lot of troubles trying to run 2x 390's with resolume 5, might be better in 6 but wouldn't count on it... basically the advanced output screen would start flickering/flashing like crazy and possibly crash the computer. wasn't even doing crossfire

Re: 12 outs: Blackmagic Decklink Quad 2 + GTX 1080 TI

The outputs across the Decklink will not be synced. I have not used one myself, so I cannot speak to tearing. If you are blending multiple projectors, you may notice the offset, but if these are 12 discrete outputs (or have different content across those outputs) you should be OK with the BMD card ...

Re: 12 outs: Blackmagic Decklink Quad 2 + GTX 1080 TI

Hey admiralperpetual, Thank you very much for your non-theoretical input :) I have three simple questions: Do you use more than the 'output transformation' in Resolume on each slice ? (effects, processing...) Does the Decklink quad 2 make the calculation by themselves or you have another powerful G...

Re: 12 outs: Blackmagic Decklink Quad 2 + GTX 1080 TI

hey we have several systems using the decklink quad 2 cards now and they are quite nice. frame rate (in resolume 5 anyway) can take quite a hit, but 12 outs shouldn't be too hard - we have one system with 3x of the cards for example which struggles sometimes but hoping v6 will help a bit ;)

Re: Your Ideal Media Server?

I built a x99 server pretty recently to stick 3x black magic quad2's in it with a 1080ti - seems that resolume is more CPU dependent and wants higher IPC / fewer, faster cores.. IE doesn't take advantage of these new high-core count cpus.. which means we can hold onto our z97/z170 systems for quite ...

Re: Software Overhead or Hardware Overhead?

It seems obvious to me! The low fps you are seeing is a result from sending video to 24 simultaneous outputs over 3 Decklink Quad cards (ha ha ha! ... :D ) dare to dream! ;) but yes, would make more sense if we were seeing anything in the system being "maxed out".. I am a bit surprised th...

Re: Software Overhead or Hardware Overhead?

little update: unfortunately I was already running at the max ram speed my bios lets me reach (2400mhz).. I tried overclocking the CPU/GPU a bit, upping the CPU to 3.8ghz helped a tiny bit - seems upping the GPU makes no difference at all though - even enabling "K" mode in evga precision O...

Re: Software Overhead or Hardware Overhead?

Interesting! I hadn't thought about all the videos being loaded into ram, makes sense.. I'll see if increasing the ram speed makes any sort of difference. Using the DeckLink outputs is much nicer for us since we don't need to worry about Windows moving the screens around or freaking out if it loses ...

Software Overhead or Hardware Overhead?

Hi there, Have a new "extreme" test system we put together in the shop to see how much we could push things a bit and having some interesting results. Here's the specs: Software: Resolume Arena 5.1.4 CPU: Intel Xeon E5-1620v4 (40 PCI-E lanes) Motherboard: Gigabyte X99-UD3P Ram: 32GB DDR4 (...

Re: Capping Resolume's fps

use a motion mount or an Alexa thanks, we usually are using Alexa yes - it's generally not an issue but occasionally you can see on-camera 'stutter' even though the frame rate is quite high, it's just variable IE not locked. yes, you can use vsync but that can cause other issues as well.. having a ...
