There might be something else wrong there if a remote connection freezes the machine.
I guess you also installed new drviers for the quadro, might be good to check those, or revert to an older version.
Also switch off background tasks, and startup items which will not be used.

Deck load takes some time, the clip can only get selected from the new deck, once the deck load finished.
You'd need to wait to send the clip select command for the deck load.

But it sounds like windows messing with Resolume.

Check the folder you have set up for recoding, it should have the files stored instantly, but you might not be able to drop them to your composition until they finished writing. If you have lots of VRAM, you could make a Wire patch which stores the frames of your capture clip into memory, and rewind...

Separate decks per song would be recommended,

USB adapters often don't give the speed they promise.
How fast does a file copy from one machine to the other?

Also make sure Wifi adapters are disabled on both machines. NDI tends to default to the Wifi adapter for some reason.

Is there enough free space on the target drive?

Do the source files play in the composition?
