Re: Datapath FX4 and FX4-SDI Delay and Lag

Got a pair of Datapath FX4. LOVE this piece of hardware! Delay is as promised by tech support - two frames. Display port is main input. If main input is lost - Datapath automatically switches to HDMI. Almost perfect hot backup solution for multiple output mapping events! Works even weird combination...

Re: USB type C as output

No, USB 3.1 is not Thunderbolt 3. They share Type-C connector. There are variation on what can be behind this connector: It can carry only USB, USB+Display Port, USB+Display Port+PCIe lanes (this full combination is thunderbolt 3). Even cables are not same. Cable capable of Thunderbolt 3 can carry P...

Re: USB type C as output

Type C is marked as Thunderbolt, so it must include Display Port Output.
GTX1060 supports 4 outputs - one will go for built-inLCD panel and 3 for external displays. But this in theory, in practice we do not know how Origin routed wires.

Re: AJA U-TAP capture card

I got my AJA U-TAP HDMI version. Tested it on MB Pro 15 Retina 2012 and MB Pro Retina 15 2016 with touchbar and DO NOT recommend it. Delay is BIG! It is was first check, so no exact numbers with delay, but around quarter of a second or more. Forget about lipsync, even when you drag windows you get l...

Re: Best MacbookPro Graphics/setup?

BMD Micro converters are great - they are tiny and work from any micro-usb smartphone charger or power bank (yes, you can put BMD Microconverter as a reclocker in the middle of you long SDI cable run and power it from power bank). But as always with BMD something is cut for price. They do not suppor...

Blackmagic Web Presenter

Here it is https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicwebpresenter They advertise it as Web Presenter: convert any SDI or HDMI camera to USB web-camera. But i wonder if it can work as a replacement for Magewell capture dongle or AJA U-Tap. 12G SDI + hardware downconverter + posibility to sw...

Re: Hardware USB dongle

Dongle is a bad idea. Especially when you forgot it in home country a couple of thousands miles away. Resolume lets you to have registered version on couple of machines (i dont know how much exactly, but i recently unregistered Resolume from old notebook (forgot about it) while having registered ver...

Re: Best MacbookPro Graphics/setup?

And in my opinion, on Mac Resolume is far more stable. Memory management under Windows is still far from Mac version. Even if i purge memory with deck switching, when i need to add video to decks PC Resolume is dying after some time. Mac runs for me for 6 or more hours without a glitch.

Re: Best MacbookPro Graphics/setup?

Talking about "all models from 2013 perform same way" we must remember that there are only two options - Geforce 750m, and Radeon R9 which formally is faster, but is too hot and power hungry and starts throttling down to the same level of performance of 750m in tight Macbook internals. Als...
