I've seen this done this before: Get some IP cameras, then bring their RTSP streams into Resolume. Zero additional hardware required (except an ethernet switch or wifi router). Quite inexpensive. Unless you have a MacBook with a discrete graphics card, you're not going to get great performance. Even my 2015 MacBook Pro with the discrete graphics is comfortable with just 720p once I start adding effects. I'd say run your composition at something like 480p, then resize everything to 1080p befo...

If not, i'm thinking that the best alternative is to make different clips/layers with the different 'presets' for effects.... for example, putting the same webcam source in several clip/layers slots and applying a different crop effect in each one. That way i can midi map the clip or layer easily. ...

What I've done before is: Bring the DJ's BPM into Ableton. (There are lots of ways to do this, depending on the DJ setup.) Depends: For Resolume 6, use Link to sync Resolume with Ableton.
