Yeah I would of said Dell for an alternative. I haven't looked at PC laptops for a while. For the Mo I'll just stick with MBP but time for an upgrade soon for me too.

Tbh its was the same for me.
Asus was rubbish for me - this was 3 years ago then I got swallowed by the Apple machine. I then moved to MBP and its been really good so far.

So your using clips with different codecs. This could be the issue.

Make sure everything is DXV.

Also update to 4.1.4 - I'm not saying this will cure your playback issues but there may be a bug fix that can help.

Lastly there are a few threads relating to playback. have you checked those?

hmm.... so should i be considering using madmapper instead of the onboard mapping in arena 4.1? I know you can syphon arena to madmapper, but is there any advantages to doing this? the footage decodes on the card, a better card may be needed. this has been discussed quite a lot in the past.
