Re: DMX Output / DMX Pixelmapping

DMX Output (Pixel Mapping) is not currently supported in Resolume 4. There are a few hints in the forums that this could be a feature for Resolume 5, but no official announcements from the developers. There is no set date for Resolume 5 (this gets asked about every week here). Don't plan anything wi...

Re: Watch folder

Hi flak. Folder synchronization is not something that Resolume is currently designed to do, and probably won't be in the foreseeable future. The flexibility Avenue/Arena give you in the form of parameter animation and layer control comes at the expense of things like file sync. Other software such a...

Re: LED brightness driver support

Personally I don't want to give LED guys more excuses to blame the video guy. Expanding on this point... Any time there is an LED screen, there should be at least one dedicated technician for it. I've been on a couple gigs where nobody from local production took responsibility for the screens, resu...

Re: no transparency in DXV

Afaik, FPCX and Motion only export to ProRes, they don't support rendering to any 3rd party codecs at all. They do by way of Compressor. For example in the 'Add Destination' window in FCPX you select 'Compressor Settings', then DXV will be listed. Edit: First you have to set up the presets in Compr...

Re: 2 small issues driving me nuts: CTRL X and UNDO

Keyboard commands for Cut Copy Paste should be working. When you try to paste, are you first clicking the bar on the bottom part of a clip cell in the Deck (where clip names are written)? The horizontal bar will highlight and that's how you set the destination for your paste. Resolume 4.x does not c...

Metal for Mac

The Metal API which was introduced for iOS8 to improve GPU performance is now coming to Macs this fall. Is this something Resolume can easily take advantage of, or are there too many factors related to video processing and plug-ins that will take time to sort out? How does it relate to OpenGL?

2015 MacBook Pro 15"

Today Apple announced a new version of the Retina MacBook Pro 15 that unfortunately still has 2GB discrete graphics. The card however is now a AMD Radeon R9 M370X with GDDR5. It's supposedly faster... anyone have the scoop on this? Edit 1: "Support for up to 5120 by 2160 resolution at 60Hz on a...

Re: Presets don't update automatically

This is one of those things that would be a feature for some and a bug for others. Imagine the pain on a large show if you wanted to update a preset but *not* affect your previously set parameters!

+1 for an option to do this, but with a pop-up prompt that makes you think twice before executing

Re: BMD MIniRecorder delay

In my experience the DeckLink Mini Recorder PCI card has very little latency. About as good as you can expect. Are you running the latest BM software and drivers?

Re: Blending mode for bypass/layer fade

Because it's so easy to reposition and duplicate content in the advanced output as opposed to doing it on the layer, people have started using layer to slice routing just to position layers. So we're looking into if we can offer the same intuitive distribution options on the layer, so you can easil...
