Only Avenue crashes when starting - Arena starts fine

Try moving your '/Documents/Resolume Avenue 6' folder out of that directory, then let Avenue 6 Beta 2 rebuild it. That cleaned up some issues for me.

Within the Output Monitor panel in Arena 6 Beta, choosing 'Side by Side' for the layout places the Output Monitor on the left side and Preview Monitor on the right.
