A way to get AV samples into your computer without buying any extra software:
Download DVIO (
http://www.carr-engineering.com/dvio.htm)
You can use this to capture direct from your DV camera to a file on your computer.
Download VirtualDub (
http://www.virtualdub.org/)
You can use VirtualDub to:
* Trim out the part/s of the captured file that you want to use as your AV sample/s
* Make some minor adjustments such as brightness/contrast and so on
* Save the Video as an AVI in any codec on your machine (Get and Use indeo 5.11
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/indeo_codec.htm) if you don't want to buy a codec
* Save the Audio as an uncompressed WAV file
You can then import the AVI and the WAV into Resolume for AV sample goodness.
(Remember, it is recommended to separate the video and the audio into separate files for best performance in Resolume)
