Resolume Kraak & Smaak VJ Clip Design Competition

Post by bart »

We're having a competition! Create 3 of your best VJ loops for the Dutch band and DJ team Kraak & Smaak and win a 500 Euro 1000 Euro contract to make 20 more clips. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place also win a boxed Resolume 3 license.

Checkout the contest page and entry form for all the details. This is the first time we organize a competition so we are very excited and look forward to your contributions!

Kraak & Smaak (meaning 'crunchy and tasty' in Dutch) are a producers trio from the Netherlands and are one of Holland's major dance music exports touring the world with their LIVE and DJ / VJ set-up. They have played at Festivals like Glastonbury, Bestival, Big Chill and Coachella and headlined super-clubs like Ministry of Sound. They have released two albums so far, 'Boogie Angst' and 'Plastic People'. The latter album included their biggest single to date, 'Squeeze Me'. You can check out the video for that track below.

 You need to add a zero to the price money, 25 euro per loop is quite an insult for unique creative work.

well, maybe interesting for beginners, or people who do that as a hobby but
- 3 clips for free
- if they like them, 20 more

Maybe It depends on the quality of the clips, but € 25.- a clip with exclusive usage rights doesn't quite sound like a good deal - I mean, even raw stock footage is way more expensive! And we're not even talking about spec work, cause it's not like VJ loops are something representative, so thats zero publicity for the winner.

A Resolume boxed license for procuding 3 clips sounds like a nice deal, but frankly, I don't know who would accept the contract.
