MacBook + Resolume + BMD Shuttle Thunderbolt

Post by jonek3d »

Hello,

I cant find clear answer here(maybe I did wrong search, sorry for that),
so I would like to ask the community here

will the Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt (or Extreme thunderbolt) version work with Resolume
installed on Macbook Pro Retina laptop?

I would like to input video stream thru hdmi from sony camcorder hdmi output.
Then I would like to apply some effects, and mix it with other layers and then output it "somewhere".

Will this work that way?

Hello,
I'm using Intensity Shuttle USB3 version on my pc. It's perfect! I though you will have no problems with mac.

I have a BM Extreme Thunderbolt and it works like a charm – 2,3GHz MBP Retina – input and output. Works with Resolume just as expected. I ran it with a GoPro 2 via HDMI-in.

Tschoepler, do you have Resolume's output working via BM card?

goto10, I don't know. I’ll check that in February – can’t get my hands on the hardware at the moment.

I also bought a BM Intensity Shuttle to connect my GoPro3 to Resolume. I have set it op to film in 720p, 50 FPS, connected the GoPro with HDMI to the BM; BM is connected to my Macbook Pro Retina through Thunderbolt. Other camera's work fine, but for the life of me I can't get a signal (Resolume does recognize my BM, other camera's show up in my preview). I know the GoPro 2 had a streaming feature, but I have yet to discover such functionality in the GoPro 3. Any tips/cheats/hacks/suggestions?

OK, got it to work through composite. I missed the button in Resoluem where you have to select wether the input is hdmi/composite/svideo etc. Still no signal through HDMI though...

The BMD cards are very particular about their source.. The composite works well though, bit more delay than the HDMI input... Side question- Anyone gotten an ipad HDMI out to work with the HDMI in on a BlackMagic Design Shuttle (usb3 or thunderbolt)? I can only get that to work with the desktop Intensity Pro card, but it for whatever reason will not work with the Laptop cards..
