Converted files are stuttering?

Post by DJ Higgumz »

I converted all of my .mov files to DXV with batch export utility, and now they are all choppy and stuttery. my FPS are at 60... so I'm not sure what's going on. do I have any settings wrong?

It's not a resolume problem, unless it is in the dxv codec, because it does it in quicktime too

try another batch converter...
some tools have problems with quicktime/dxv, like Adobe Media Encoder CS4 :D

My first guess would be that your hard drive can't cope with the data rate. What sort of resolution and file size are we talking about here? And what sort of hard drive connection and RPM?

7200 rpm 500gb. I messed with the settings, and it seemed by giving it a defined frame rate it solved the problem, at least with the file I tried. Currently I am batching the rest of my files so I'll see how it goes. 30fps is more than adequate right?

normally i don't change the framerate... expect i need/want to have specific fps. normally i use adobe premiere or after effects and interpret the footage at the project window.

if you render the footage into another framerate... you should have the right properties... otherwise the program renders blended frames inbetween the missing ones which is not what i'm looking for!
