Brand desktop system in 10.9 and every forum all over the internet for VJ's is a clusterfuck of crashes and wacky behavior.

Every user of course has their own experience, ours is that there are no real structural problems when using Resolume on Mavericks.

So far, there are four known issues affecting VJs. 2 of these are to do with the system, 2 are with Resolume itself.

Directly Resolume related:
- Resolume will crash when setting an audio buffer lower than 64. We're working on fixing this for 4.1.9
- When using files that are *not* DXV encoded, memory runs out quicker than on previous OS versions. This can cause some compositions that previously worked to crash. Preventing this is simply a case of using less files per deck (the limit seems to be somewhere around 60 1080p files), or of course using DXV.

OSX related:
- The menu bar is visible on all outputs. This can easily be disabled (http://www.mactrast.com/2013/10/disable ... mavericks/), we're also looking into whether we can do this for you on 4.1.9.
- DXV encoded files do not play in Quicktime Player or Quicklook. This affect all non-Apple codecs, and is unfortunately out of our hands. DXV encoded files play fine in Resolume itself.

Particularly that last point can be a dealbreaker, so if that's the case for you we recommend against upgrading. Otherwise, or when getting a new computer, we see no real reason to hold off.

this quicklook thing with mavericks not displaying content coded in animation, foto-jepeg and some other codecs vjs use is really annoying.

thanks Joris.
That's the answer i was looking for.
As you said, non of the "bugs" you mentioned is a problam in my case except the QT codec playback problems, that's sounds really annoying.
I'll keep tracking.
Thanks.

I was already looking for that solution of the quicklook. All I could find was that you go to terminal and type this:
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs ApplePlanarRGB enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs SorensonVideo enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs SorensonVideo3 enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleBMP enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleCinepak enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleH261 enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleH263 enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleMotionJPEGA enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleMotionJPEGB enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs ApplePNG enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleNone enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleVideo enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleGraphics enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleTGA enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleTIFF enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleComponentVideo enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs AppleJPEG2000 enabled
qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs ApplePixlet enabled
And I hoped to find something similar for DXV, but apparently that wont work. Neither for HAP

Anybody knows a another workaround by previewing your loops outside resolume? Like adobe bridge or something
