Clean masks/ non warp??

Post by asperi »

When masking in the advanced output is there any way to get clean lines? It is pretty choppy. Thanks!

See in the pic below. Wish there are some feather option. If I make PNG masks they are clean.

...Maybe I am missing something, the mask effect will only do a square.. I need to mask a bunch of shapes, is in the advanced output window the only place you can add points to a mask.. Otherwise photoshop....? :/ I would also like to mask without warping the image.. I must be missing something..
Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

For shapes other than squares you need to use bezier edit points/point mode, right click the mask and select "Make circle" at the bottom of context menu.

-the jagged edges, i think you are sitting too close. ;)

"warping the image" Are you confusing mask with slice?
good luck

The jagged edges you're seeing are referred to as "aliasing." Many graphics programs have an anti-aliasing filter, but Resolume does not because it would be a huge performance hit (low frame rate).

Photoshop is by far the cleanest way to do masking if you have the time.

Right, anti-alias.. I remember that.. What about making a mask through the effect and without warping image.. Only square? looking for something like an adjustment layer with a mask in After Effects..

I guess I found it by adding a crop/ mask in the advanced output.. As far as not warping..
