GrandMA2, Artnet, Pixelator, PC

Post by Patrick »

Hi,
i want to drive 4500 RGB LED´s with the Enttec Controller "Pixelator" (http://www.enttec.com/index.php?main_me ... s&pn=70060),
working with Artnet.

The controller is a GrandMA 2. working with Artnet.

Is Resolume Arena a solution between this components?

please help & thanks

Resolume Arena doesn't do pixel mapping yet so you wouldn't be able to output the video signal in DMX signals to drive your Pixelator but I know it's coming!

Using Resolume --->Syphon/Spout ----> MadMapper/Visuition ------> Artnet

This will work well for you. Only problem, one program can use artnet at a time for computers. So you can't have Madmapper/visution sending artnet out and resolume taking artnet in from the MA. You'll need an entec box to take MA2 control into resolume and then artnet via cat5 out.

When your dealing with this many LED's i'd recommend a hippo and avo media server. Resolume may run fine on a rack mount system, probably not so well on a laptop.

Altough a Resolume fanatic, maybe you could checkout Madrix for your setup...
www.madrix.de is pixelmappingsoftware specifically designed for the sole purpose of driving led's ...
