This is actually a common feature of DAWs, which I use often there.

bypassing a soloed layer would certainly have both buttons enabled, but it could be possible to have the layer state remembered, so for example is a bypassed layer is soloed, the bypass button could turn orange (and flashing), indicating that the bypass is ignored, and the other way around when a soloed layer is bypassed, then the solo button could become orange(and flashing), indicating that the solo is ignored.
Additionally there could be added 2 more buttons next to the composition controls above the layers:
1. layer solo clear. edit: for this to make sense multi-layer solo could be implemented.
2. layer bypass clear.
maybe in the next major version ?
