Arena on Windows crashs while using "Lines"

Post by baustellen »

Hey folks,
i am playing around with the Arena-Demo on a Windows PC. Its a setup with four projectors, which run each on 1280*800. The size of the comp is 1600*3680. I already created some clips which also have this resolution, so there's a lot of data flowin around.
This are the tech-specs of the PC: i5 3,2ghz quadcore, Nvidia GTX 960 2GB, 250SSD and a MSI H97 PC-Mate Motherboard.
Windows 7 HP
Resolume Arena 4.2.1 Demo

I use the onboard-graphic and the NVIDIA at the same time, so can deliver five signals (4projector + 1 display). So that also means, that two graphic-driver (Intel + nvidia) are active at the same time.

Resolume is crashing heavily. Especially if I use the "Lines"-Source and push the "Num Lines" Parameter to the maximum. Then it crash reproducable.
I looked up the crash-logs, here u go:

Re: Arena on Windows crashs while using "Lines"

Post by DHoude »

While I am still learning Resolume, I will say that I also had a crash a few days ago when I was playing with the Lines feature too. I have a much simpler setup. An ADK laptop with NVIDA 870m 6 gig video card. I was not even using the output, I am just trying to learn how to build visuals and shows at the moment.

Win 7 64 bit
Resolume Avenue 4.2.1

I have not been able to recreate it at this point. I was not going to post until I saw this thread. Personally, it may have been the effects chain that I was using to make an Audio reactive circle. I found a better way to do it and seems stable when changing the amount of lines.

Hey Folks,
i know that there is a lot off buzz' because of the new 5version, but it would be great if somebody can have a look at this issue here.
@DHoude: Did you continouse using the "Linses"-Source and found a way of avoiding crashs?

Sorry for the delay in response. We're swamped with the administrative fallout of the Res 5 release.

Could you please drop us a mail@resolume.com? Then I can give your issue some priority.

Sorry for my delay too. I had to go out of state for a bit for my full time job. I am not abole to test or do anything with this for now.

I can say that I was not able to crash it again. I was using Lines with the Mirror effect to draw a beat reactive circle. After the crash I did not use mirror. I stubled on a better way. With mirror I had a circle with a verticle line on either side. It crashed shortly after that. Sorry for the vague details, I am normally more specific. The crash surprised me and I just forgot where I was in the setttings.

I have changed it since with the new approach and it has been stable as far as I can tell. Just formatted for other issues. Should be back running in a week or so when I get home.
