problem with smooth video playback with sound

Post by svoboda »

I have hardware
CPU: Intel i7 processor @ 4.0 GHz 4790L
RAM: 32 GB
System disk: RAID 0 - 2 x 256 GB SSD disk Samsung SSD 850 PRO
Footage disk: RAID 0 - 2 x 512 GB SSD disk Samsung SSD PRO
Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus VI
GPU: Nvidia Quadro K4200

When the file takes longer than about 20 seconds, there is a de-sync sound and image. The sound usually goes faster than the image. Codec: DXV, DXV 3.0 - the same problem. This is the problem in R4 and R5.
Please help, I can not work

Try disconnect video and sound: for example put video on the 3rd layer, sound on the 2nd one.

Check your sound play mode is "Timeline", not "BPM Sync".

You also can check audio settings, where set SMTP time code and audio frequency to what they are in your files.

That's all solutions that I know.

What codec are you using for the audio track?

Hmmm. That looks correct to me. Could you maybe send over the file?

sometime I run into these unsync issues too...what do I do to prevent this and also guarantee a smoother playback of the video:

- Separate Video and Audio. Make sure that you delete the audio from of the muxed clip.
- Place the files for example: Video Layer 1 / Audio Layer 2 like mentioned before.
- Set the video- and the audioclip to timeline playback.
- Higher the audio buffer inside the preferences to the next possible value.
- Trigger the column with your video audio clip package.

If you still recognize this issue...play around with the Sample rate and the buffer size till you reach your goal.

Best wishes

Place the two clips in the same column and trigger the column by clicking on the column name.
