Displaying Web Content with Resolume / Windows - SOLVED!!!

I am pretty sure I could find the heart of this information here in the Forum. For now, couldn´t find it back during a search, so here goes the info...

It is possible to display web content in Resolume (Windows) using "Awesomium + Spout".
"Awesomium Web Sample" allows you to load and toggle between different web pages.
Awesomium has a Spout sender, developed by someone (sorry Mr Coder) and Resolume can recognize it as a Spout Source.
That´s pretty much it and its working fine to me. Wonderfull!!!
Testing tonight using and dislaying iWall social media content mixed with Resolume.

Nice. I've been using NDI tools for the last month. Really wish half the apps for syphon would get developed for spout. This is going to be in my test list in a few weeks. Thank you for sharing.

When you have time, could you take a video walkthrough of this setup up and use on Youtube. Thank you.

Hopefully I can chime in to help with this. I wrote the Awesomium Spout sender, but had problems and didn't go any further with it. Since then several people have contacted me by email and have used NDI/Spout with positive results. The NDI "Scan Converter" successfuly captures a browser window including anything from Youtube or ShaderToy for example. Then "NDI to Spout" or the freeframe dll will get it into Resolume. The same applies to any other application the the Scan Converter will pick up. Unfortunately this does not include OpenGL windows but for most cases it works well. If anybody uses this method successfully, reports back here would help others.

Just I just checked into Awesomium and saw it was a coding based program and I immediately lost all interest haha.

My setup is NDI Scan Converter (click on the taskbar icon and make sure your source is turned on, Google chrome doesn't play well Nativity without a setting change, so I prefer Internet Explorer for this application)

Make sure the NDI sender/receiver .dll or .bundle is installed in your 3rd party FX folder and that folder is added to the resolume FX settings. Go to input sources and add the NDI receiver as your source (should have the application your sending next to the name.

And that's it.

Hey all, sorry to bring up an oldish thread, but this thread is exactly what I was looking for. I have an additional question to add to it, since I am someone who is brand new to resolume and doesn't yet have the wherewithal to test this myself:
does anyone know if that web content is still able to be interacted with while it is being viewed through resolume? For example, if your resolume output is on your external screen, but your web window is still the active window on the desktop, can a user with a mouse/keyboard/etc theoretically interact with the webpage that they're viewing through resolume? Eg. what I'm really asking is could this actually be used as a way to create an interactive piece?

Play around with NDI scan converter. Should work for you.

If you use NDI Scan Converter, you don´t need to run NDI to Spout.
Ok, you might need to install NDI to Spout to get NDI sender/receiver dlls.

Copy NDI sender/receiver dlls into Resolume plugins vfx folder.
Run NDI Scan Converter and select applications to be scanned/seen.

Resolume will now diisplay NDIReceiver as a plugin input source. Select that one and place it in your deck, obviously.
It takes a few seconds to load it at first.

The most important thing. Can´t you see anything? Or wrong application perhaps?
In the source properties there is a "sender index" slider, meaning you can select any other application window currently opened in your system and multi-selected using NDI Scan Converter.
Just move the slider to the right as it changes the sender index.
Sweet!!!

This is not working anylonger.
I can make NDI to Spout to send some content to Arena;
I can make NDI Scan Converter to send some content to Arena;

But never the content I want!!! All I can send is the desktop image itself, meaning the Arena gui to the screen.
No matter what server I select, no other seems to work and they are all offline.
I am in a single system and I just want to display Chrome or Firefox content thru Arena. No other computer connected thru any network, but yes, I need internet to display the selected content on the browsers.

The solution I once explained above no longer works.

Anyone?
Thanks!
Paulo

Indeed, seems to be an issue with NDI scan converter.
I can see the mouse cursor over a black background for chrome for example
