R6 Media Manager doesn't work

Post by pette »

Hi,
I open a R5 composition in R6.
it's ok.
I try the media manager, it found all the files (if I click on Collect Files it shows the right number of clips), but after several minutes (10 minutes) it doesn't appear nothing in the media manager.
If I close it R6 stop working and I have to force the exit.
It freezes the computer for several minutes and then I can restart R6.
thanks

If I open all the decks, the Media Manager has to work for a good 5-10 minutes on my Mac Pro, searching for all the files. Of course it can't find them, but it does come back.

I'm assuming you're using Locate All... and pointing it to a low level folder, containing all your files. What happens when you point the Media Manager to a higher folder, containing only 20 or so files? That way it has less files to search, and probably can return sooner.

Hi,
I'm waiting for several minutes, I have ssd on mac book pro and ssd by usb3 HDD.
If I try with the default composition it works, I don't use Locate All, I only open the media manager and it doesn't works

Now I don't understand the problem anymore.

You can use Collect Media button, so the Media Manager is not frozen. How are you searching for the files if you don't use Locate All...?

Hi,
In Mac version, I click on Composition -> Media Manager and I wait for the list of files. I don't click Locate All because I don't see the list of files.

Can you run me through what you do, starting from a new composition?

So going through the whole process, including importing the composition via Composition > Open.

Open composition > Open R5 composition
Save as > R6 composition
Generate all Thumbnails when I click on all the decks.
Try Media Manager > after several minutes I don't see the list
Try to close Media Manager > Resolute Freeze
Force Exit Resolume > Computer freeze for several Minutes
