Just to add to the conversation, VJzoo, have you tried the mouse wheel method for the global speed (or any slider for that matter) when you hover over the slider? It seems to be very convenient and relatively precise. It also seems to work great with the mouse that have wheels that can do side to side.

Nice suggestion hadn't thought of that, gave it a shot and on my system one mouse increment on the scroll wheel makes a large change from 1 to 1.23 but it might be easier to adapt to OSC and make more sensitive.
