Multiple Display VGA HDMI issues R6 Arena

Post by RichVisuals »

Problem, Windows 10 identifies multiple displays without issue.
Resolume 6 Arena does not.

Each change Setups 1,2,3 done with R6 closed and then reopened.
Test Setup 1
Primary Monitor (3840x2160) 150% Windows Scaling as Primary Monitor
Second Monitor (1680x1050) 100% Windows Scaling VGA converted from Display Port 1
Third Monitor (1920x1080) 100% Windows Scaling HDMI Converted from Display Port 2

Which is consistent throughout where all displays are connected.

Test Setup 2
Primary Monitor (3840x2160) 150% Windows Scaling as Primary Monitor
Second Monitor (1680x1050) 100% Windows Scaling VGA converted from Display Port 1
Third Monitor (1920x1080) Disconnected
Display 2 now shows correctly

Test Setup 3
Primary Monitor (3840x2160) 150% Windows Scaling as Primary Monitor
Second Monitor (1680x1050) 100% Windows Scaling VGA converted from Display Port 1
Third Monitor (1920x1080) 100% Windows Scaling HDMI Output
Same output from R6Arena as Setup1

Test Setup 4
Disconnected Second Monitor And then Reconnected with R6 Open
Same as setup 1 and 3.

Test 5 disconnected both displays, plugged them into Display ports 1,2 the other way round and VGA last.
Same output from Resolume for 1,3,4.

This issue caused major problems at the weekend why trying to run 2 outputs, one to screens and one to a video stream, while running 2 displays (primary monitor and second hdmi for powerpoint.)
Resolume seems to refuse to output to a connected VGA device if there is a HDMI output also being used.
Any ideas? Never been able to get all three outputs working in R6 at once, windows has no problems.

We are indeed seeing this problem cropping up. Could you please check if all your UI scalling is at exactly 100%? Including your main screen?

Setting all screens to 100% scaling...
Windows Identified
Primary Display : as display 1 : 3840x2160
Second Display : 1680x1050 VGA (Display Port 1) then converted
Third Display : 1920x1080 HDMI output.

Resolume :
Output Menu lists same three screens in same identities.
However when selecting the "identify displays" option:
Screen 2 is showing as 1
Screen 3 is showing as 3
Primary screen not being shown with an identity colour display.

When selecting advanced output:I can get it to output only by selecting the same screens (1 and 3) even though display 1 still shows as the primary monitor (3840x2160) the output is being sent at (3810x2160) to the (1680x1050)

I think somewhere the software is getting confused as to which display is which. However I can confirm that with all scaling set to 1005 I am now able to get the output working for 2 of the three displays..

It doesn't explain why the main monitor is no longer identifiable in R6 though.... and I have had situations when trying to get this to work where the output display not addressed alters with disconnects and reconnects.
I have also had the all three blank issue but I believe that to be a driver failure after too many hot connections.

Summary for all three displays set to 100% scaling.
Resolume can see all three screens in the options but then miss identifies the screens when outputting. I think this then renders 1 display unusable. Resolume still only able to identify 2 displays and miss-numbers them.

EDIT - Changed the HDMI input to match the setup in my original post and also just noticed, when using identify displays, Display 2 is being shown faintly behind display 3.

So same hardware setup now giving different display outputs to previous test - but also 1 display identified twice..

Is this an issue with my hardware, or is it resolvable?

Resolume starts drawing the outputs at the top left corners of the displays found.
1680x1050 seems to be an odd resolution.
So how does windows see these displays and how does Resolume report them?

Yeah it's weird but you find that on some monitors that are 16:10 but don't have enough pixels to be 1920x1200.

Resolume screenshot above shows how the menu identifies the displays, windows matches this information.
Thanks for the reply, sorry for the delay in my response Zoltan.
