Magewell input - No 50hz?

Post by cosmowe »

Hey there,
just realized that if I add the Magewell (XI100DUSB-HDMI) source to a layer..

A. The deinterlace checkbox is always checked and cannot be unchecked
+
B. There is no 50Hz resolution to choose from even is my source sends 1080@50p

Win 10
Resolume 6.1
GUI 1080@50
Output 1080@50

Any ideas?

Best wishes

Do other programs see the 50Hz option for the Magewell?

Hey Zoltan,
sorry for my delayed reply.

Yes, in other software like OBS it is possible to set another input framerate.

I've created a ticket, we'll see what we can do.

You see the input signal in Resolume right?

Yes I do see it. But that was never a problem with these Magewell dongles..... I can even see the input signal in resolume when I send 1920x1200p50) ...... but set up 720p60 in the resolume magewell source.

My bad. We used to show some Directshow settings via that menu, but I guess those are all in properties now. We'll take a look and see what we can do.

So, turns out that Magewell let's you set whatever fps you want, from 1 to 60 fps and everything in between. They then try to squeeze the frames they're actually receiving into whatever framerate you have chosen. So let's say you're sending a 30p signal, you can tell it to only show 18 of those every second.

Magewell itself only reports the maximum framerate it can do, 60 in this case. The list you see in OBS is what OBS thinks are useful framerates.

TL;DR... We'll see if we can add 50Hz options to the list as well.

Looks like OBS also has a Match Output Framerate option, which could be kind of interesting. Does that one work for you?
