I have a problem getting my vidnet to work the way I want. I have a notebook and a desktop. I connect the two by bridging a gigabit network and a firewire (giving me a 1400 connection). Vidnet works fine streaming from my desktop to my notebook, but it won't stream from my notebook to my desktop, which is the way I need it to go for a big upcoming gig. Has anyone had this problem? I've run a couple experiments, and here are my results.
desktop (400x300) -> notebook (400x300) = no problems
desktop (640x480) -> notebook (640x480) = very minimal frame loss
desktop (400x300) -> notebook (640x480) = no problems
notebook(400x300) -> desktop (640x480) = no video on desktop, after about 15 seconds resolume just closes itself on notebook
notebook (320x240) -> desktop (320x240) = first frame comes through, then resolume shuts down on notebook and freezes on desktop
notebook (320x240) -> desktop (640x480) = no video on desktop, after 15 seconds resolume closes on notebook
Why is it that my vidnet seems to be unidirectional!? Why won't it feed both ways? I'm not trying to feed both ways at same time, that makes sense. When I try to recieve it on my desktop, I don't even load it into notebook deck from source or vice versa. Both are running on clean windows xp installations, with nothing but drivers and resolume. I know I have enough bandwidth (the bridged connection is BLAZING). It just only wants to feed from my desktop to my notebook, and not the other way. I need this to work for an upcoming show. Here are my specs:
Desktop:
Athlon64 3000+ (overclocked 300mhz still running cool - lots of cooling), 1gb ddr3200, 160gb 7200 system drive, 2x80 7200 striped raid for video, onboard gigabit, onboard firewire, radeon9800 pro 256. Process at 640x480 with no frame loss even with 3 layeres.
Notebook:
P4 3.4ghz, 1gb ddr3200, 60gb 7200, netgear pcmcia gigabit card, onboard firewire, radeon mobility 9700. Process at 640x480 with minimal frame loss, 400x300 with no frame loss.
What the dilly yo!?
