Resolume on other PC wont recognize some .mov

Post by E_D_G_E »

Hello there,

Im a Resolume noob, so i hope someone can help me.
Im a DJ and sound engineer at a local venue, and I want to play some visuals while im DJing. So i made some visuals on my own laptop with Resolume Arena 5.

This all works fine, but when I try to put my show file WITH the .mov and logos ive used on the laptop of the venue, some of the.mov wont be recognized by the Resolume on that laptop. (also Resolume Arena 5).

I cant figure out what the problem is, some of the .mov files work, and some wont work. These files arent corrupted, VLC player plays them with no problem.

Does anybody have a idea what the problem is?

THX!

Do you have Quicktime installed on this machine?

Because Resolume 6 is 64 bit, we had to drastically change the playback engine. You can read more about which codecs are supported in our knowledge base: https://resolume.com/support/en/video#c ... -my-videos

In general, a good rule of thumb is that if Windows' Movies & TV can play your file, it should play in Resolume too. If it doesn't, you might be dealing with a proprietary format or a legacy 32 bit Quicktime codec and playback becomes a lot more complicated.

Are these files Prores by any chance? Prores is not supported on windows with Resolume 6 currently, but we're working on it.
