The Media Manager currently searches the whole directory structure in the root folder you point it to.

In theory, that approach is great. Just click and it does the work for you. In practice, there's too many edge cases that make it misbehave.

So we're thinking of rewriting the MM to be smarter about where it looks, while still being able to reconnect a whole directory structure in one go.

I'm still really glad it exists now , looking forward to improvements !

Now we're here talking about the future of media manager , and i'm not to shy about asking new features anyway haha.. :D

A check box to search for "exact file name" or not would be nice.

For example you have to re render all your files and they all get a "_1" suffix from AE.
Resolume closed, you delete all the bad originals, open resolume , ofc all files are missing and currently media manager only searches for the exact file name.

It would be really cool if media manager could see that most of the name is correct and could swap them with a dialogue box asking for confirmation as the files are not 100% the same.

Myeah... It's going to be interesting then to see what happens when you try reconnecting a folder with MyGreatLoop_01 through MyGreatLoop_20 where one loop is missing.

I really like D3's approach for this, where replacing FILENAME with FILENAME_v[x] on the folder level is enough for D3 to understand what you want to do.

good point there. Could it compare length of clip & size on disk and make an assumption on that asking you to verify ?
