Recording Freezes on Large output

I have a composition 7689 X 1344 and freezes after 2 seconds when I hit record. It works fine as 1920 X 1080.
I import the new 5 second video back in resolume and plays fine.
My output is in Advance / Virtual display 7689 X 1344

Using MacOS High Sierra

Does Resolume recover from the freeze if you let it sit?

I'm having a similar issue with a large output of 6720x1152

resolume stalls and stops the record ~4 seconds in
GPU usage drops
CPU usage drops
Resolume recovers, finishes the clips but is no longer recording
Smooth playback of clip up until moment of freeze.

Content is 4x 1080p dxv files and some blank 1.4 second holding slides to cover transitions.

Sounds like your machine is not able to handle the real time encoding/writing to disk, so the memory fills up quickly, and the recording stops.

If you need to create longer recordings, try using an external capture card.

Thanks, it was in an attempt to condense transitions to single files.
I've since started using FRAPS which has worked really well.


Out of curiosity, does Res cache the used memory and how do you go about clearing it if need be?
Don't know if I need to clear my "recorded" folder or remove the recorded files from the composition (reinserted as DXV)

Great to hear you found a solution with FRAPS!
We've done some improvements to the internal recorder for version 7.

Resolume stores the recorded files in the Recording folder you have specified in the preferences.
Those stay there until you delete them manually, Resolume doesn't clear this folder.
