DXV3 High quality bad anti aliasing

Post by lpoffline »

Hi guys, I've had this problem several time recently, as you can see in this image: https://imgur.com/YZQfzYW the anti aliasing when rendering in high quality is way worse than rendering in normal quality. In other words, edges of elements in high quality seem worse than normal quality.
I've already tried exporting video to different formats and converting them to DXV3 high quaity, but with same result. Normal quality is not an option, because the rendering has a lot of gradients. Thank you for your answers!

This is what I get with a 1080p diagonal line converted to DXV in Alley and at 1000% zoom:

to me it looks very much the same.

Could you send us the source image exported to TIFF?

Is this a still image you try to convert?

Are you converting with Alley, or exporting from Adobe?

I've made test videos comparing uncompressed, DXV3 high quality and DXV3 normal quality videos: https://we.tl/t-gjjRbaqvWP I've tried rendering/converting videos with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Encoder and mpeg stream clip, on 3 different computers both on widows and macos, results were the same. The interesting thing is that this problem doesn't appear if elements are completely white. I've had this problem before but only with flat elements and specific colors, for example when rendering google logo in DXV3 high quality only two letters appeared pixelated, in addition, I've been rendering videos into DXV format for 4 years, but only encountered with this problem only 6 months ago.

Thanks, with your source file I see the same result as you.
We'll see what we can do.

Your source file (with QT Animation codec) plays fine for me on my mac in Resolume, so maybe you could just use that meanwhile?
