Crashing midi out to loopmidi/xbox

Post by Grimm90 »

Not sure if this is a problem caused by resolume or the external midi apps.

I've connected my xbox controllers to ocean swift controller to midi app , which outputs to loopmidi , into resolume.

It happened a couple of times now i'm setting up , and i click "midi in" , no problem.

Out of habit with my apc40 , i often click on "Midi out" too on the loopmidi port, but then resolume freezes completely.
No crash / crash report but it's frozen solid, i need to use task manager to end it.

Enabling midi output from Resolume to the midi port you get input to Resolume will create a feedback loop.
So you launch a clip, that's sent out via midi to Resolume to launch the clip, so the clip is launched, and sends out a midi note to Resolume to launch the clip....

You can touch it if you want, but be aware of the consequences ;)
Midi output to a non physical device is usually not a good idea if you also have input enabled from it.
