Preview Monitor - custom bg image?

Is it possible to customize the background image of the Preview Monitor?

One of my venue's LED panels are split apart into columns- often times I need to display peoples' names on the panels and it would make my life a lot easier to preview the text spacing against a background grid to see if it's in alignment with the panels.

Thank you!

Soo... You have a Clip (text effect) and typ something and then want to see if the text is were it should be....

i would try to set my clip the way that its allways at the same place and i dont need to worry about this anymore...

either
use the transform tab of the clip to place / scale the clip to be were it should be
or
take a whole Layer (& Layer to slice) and place the Slice in the advanced output were you want it to be.

But there might be some reason why you dont want to do it that way and i want to hear them

You can use a bypassed group with two layers (text + bg) and preview the whole group mix.
Then drop the text clip to the 'live' layer.

A simplest one: load your BG clip (columns and so), apply a crop and make a preset.
Then use that preset with your text clips to fit the content on that crop.
Turn it off when it's ok.
