Time Signatures different from 4/4

Post by Leonsuper »

Hello.

When I have Resolume and Ableton synced through Ableton Link, it works perfectly for using BPM synced effects in 4/4, but I have a song that repeats the main section every 11 beats. I can customize the effect and make the envelope repeat every 11 beats too, but it's hard to make it start counting at the same time because the Ableton Link feature assumes the song has 4 beats.

Is there a way to make it easier to work in Resolume with different time signatures? A feature that I missed?

Thank you

What could work, would be setting the effect clip to BPM sync, 11 beats.
Then set the param you'd like to animate to Clip position.
If you launch the clip, synced to BPM, the clip will play virtually for 11 beats, then repeat, so should your parameter.
Setting the Clip's beat snap you can set the accuracy of the clip launch. https://resolume.com/support/en/clips#beat-snap

Most people use 4/4, but it would be cool to have options in the future? Bucket list perhaps?
Like your work around though. Nice thinking :)
