Osc via wifi instead of connected ethernet

Post by Filipsz »

Hi, is there a chance to do so?

Im running ndi setup on 2 pcs, if osc on, slave computer starts to having problem with smooth playback.

If off, no prob. If changed slave/master, problem apperars on slave again.

Ndi uses ports 5000-6000.
Osc uses 7001.

Dont know how to solve simultanous playback from two pcs then.

Many thx

What does your signal chain look like?

NDI source IN on computer 1 and 2
OSC control in on computer 1 and 2

What is the NDI source, and what is sending the OSC?

Are both computers connected via WIFI? Is it going through a router, or direct? If a router, is the router's firewall turned off? Is the firewall on both computers turned off?

What version of Resolume are you on? This will dinnertime if its NDI or NDI-HX.

WIFI is never a good option, but it should work.

Ndi source is resolume, no hdmi, utp out

Please dont remind the basics. No need to know if hx or not. But definitely not, arena output via ndi is not hx, u know?

Just need to know if I can send osc via wifi if im using utp for ndi at the same time.

HX can make a big difference, especially when dealing with multiple 4K@60 streams.
To answer your question, yes you can do both OSC and NDI on the same network, I do it almost everyday, but it depends on your networks bandwidth, which IS why I asked those questions, because, yes, they do matter ;)
