Keeping the same clip properties visible when triggering columns (v5 vs v7)?

Post by Slint »

I'm having an issue due to a change between version 5 and version 7.

I've created a composition that goes along to an audio file which plays all the way through.

The audio file is in a clip in the first column of the bottom layer. Because I'm using the playback position in the transport section of the clip properties to tell me when to trigger the next columns I always want to keep this visible.

In earlier versions this clip would remain visible when I trigger different columns as all the other clips in that layer are blank.

In version 7 when I trigger a new column it shows the empty clips rather than continuing to show the audio file and now without seeing the audio file playback position I don't have a timing reference. :?

Does anyone know a way to keep the old behavior, or a better way to do things based on what I've described?

Thanks in advance for any advice. :)

Try enabling Show layer transport controls, so you can see the clip playback position:

If you trigger via Midi, try unchecking Update clip panel on external trigger in the General Preferences.
