Resolume Avenue Preferences menu Crash

Post by UON »

It seems that every time I go into the preferences to change an option in the latest version of Resolume, and then exit it, resolume freezes for a couple of seconds then crashes!

Possible cause: I noticed this started happening after changing the audio input settings. I have the latest realtek driver, tried installing different versions of the driver but it still happens.

Hi UON,

I had a similar issue with Resolume Arena the other day. Contacted Resolume Support about it and found a soulution:
  • Check the windows event logs, they should have some info of what's happening exactly when Avenue crashes. (Most likely the nvidia driver is crashing.)
  • Try an older NVIDIA driver release like 442.xx version.
For me, the older driver release actually fixed it. Arena never crashed a single time again since the driver downgrade.

Hope it fixes your issue as well!
Kind regards
Lukas

EDIT: There seems to be more information on this issue in this thread here: https://resolume.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=80642#p80642

Hmm, preferences could be a different one, but it's best to check the drivers first indeed.

Could you please use the crash reporter dialog that pops up after the crash to submit a crash report? https://resolume.com/support/en/reporti ... rt-a-crash
That way we get lot more detailed information about what went wrong exactly.
Don't forget to fill out your email address, so we know it came from you ;)

If you don't see it pop up, it could hide behind the main UI, when you start Resolume next time, especially on mac.
If you still can't find it, could you please send us the Resolume log file via the feedback tab in preferences?
Thanks!
