„Videos not smooth“ Problem stuttering

Post by Heine84 »

Hi guys,

I got a new XMG pro15 Notebook with I7, 32GB RAM, SSD and RTX 3070. so the Notebook is over the requirements for resolume 7. But Not Even Full HD Videos at 30fps run smooth. So Whats what the Problem. Nvidia Studio drivers are Running, the RTX is User for resolume, also converted Videos to .mov.

GPU and CPU load is at only about 20-30%

Is there and Solution?

Thanks guys!

Are you using movs which were converted to DXV movs with Alley?

Yes Iam using converted mov files.
There is also only 1 Layer used and no geometric correction is happening. So iam wondering the Bad performance with a Laptop which is well suited.

What's the codec inside that mov container?
Which program did you use to make it a mov?

Thanks for confirming!
When you play nothing in Resolume, what does the FPS counter say then?

If you enable Show display info in the output menu and enable full screen output to your secondary monitor, what do the Renderer, and GFX lines say in the output?

Thanks for your help!

If there is nothing in resolume, FPS is relative stable about 58-60 (maybe the Output Display is at 60hz)

When I enable the Display Info, it Says that the Renderer and the GFX Card uses the 3070 GPU

That looks good.
Are you playing your DXV file form an internal SSD?

Yes, videos are playing from an internal SSD (same as program)

Ok, so what kind of not smooth are we talkinkg about?

Are the clips set to Timeline or BPM sync?

Do you see a frame rate dip in the counter, when you see the unsmoothness?
