[fixed] Crash on loading files

Post by x-mode »

Hi there,

just downloaded and installed Resolume 2.4 trial. Programm looks great except for the fact I cannot load my own footage into the decks. Everytime I try Resolume crashes. The files do play fine in VLC Player.

Following your Manual "Preparing media" I re-encoded some of my videos with VDubMod to Indeo 5.11 and also Cinepak in 400x300 resolution without audio. The material was originally captured with HuffyUV-Codec, if this does matter.

Operating System: WIN XP Pro
Processor: Mobile Intel Pentium M 725, 1600 MHz (16 x 100)
Videocard: ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo (Dell)
File type: .avi
Codec: Cinepak

I put up one of the files causing Resolume to crash for download: click here (~4.38mb)

Help appreciated ;)

Regards

this file crashes resolume here too! Not only 2.4 also 2.3. It,s probably something funny with this file, could you try creating one with premiere or aftereffects?

Ehm...nope.
Both Premiere as well as After Effects require heavy investments, too heavy for a try *gg
Well actually I never used either programs....

But, it's not only this file crashing resolume, any of my own files does so.
This is really weird.

VDubMod tend to write headers wrongly, try virtualdub pure and try again.

Well, I dled latest VirtualDub 1.4.9.3 VCR + SYNC and retried with that one. After recoding the videofile to Indeo 5.11 Resolume crashed again.

Perhaps it's due to the fact that the video was originally captured with HuffyUV codec? Do higher bitrates (1069 kbps in this case) have any influence?

By the way: I dled After Effects Trial Version in order to try that way. When converting the file to Cinepak with After Effects, the videofile plays in resolume. This seems to be a VDub-problem!

Last but not least: Resolume is a great program! I just recently started with videostuff (after 13 years of DJing), so you can call me kinda noob who hasn't seen much yet but Resolume looks and feels great to me.
